Practice Champions (PC)

Our Practice Champions (PC'S) are volunteer patients that have a number of roles, designed to inform the practice, and assist with patient care. Our GP's may prescribe support for our Practice Champion for you.

Our PC's are all DBS checked, insured, and have all signed confidentiality agreements

What they currently do:-

  • Welcome and assist on the front door - offering support to login to the manual screen, direct patients, pass messages on to the Reception staff.
  • Assist with flu and covid clinics - maintaining patient flow, directing patients, logging in.
  • Weekly walking group from the practice (approx 45 minutes) on Wednesdays to support isolated patients who would like a bit of fresh air and a chat
  • Monthly IT support. Our PC can support you with basic IT help such as adding contacts to your phone, setting up emergency contact on phone. creating an email address. How to send an email. How to use whatsapp. How to send a text message. The IT support dates will be advertised on our website but also ask staff for details
  • Support any person who would like to attend a local dads or Mums baby group but feels it would be a struggle to go on their own. The PC's would meet  you at the Practice and then walk round with you to the group.
  • Take you for free coffee and cake to a local cafe to sit and chat with other lonely people
  • Tend to our garden
  • Offer telephone support
  • Assist you to attend a local dementia lunch
