Blood Pressure Monitoring (Self-Service)
1 in 4 adults in Stockport have high blood pressure….are you one of them?
If you have high blood pressure and you don’t know, you could be at risk of having a stroke or heart attack. High blood pressure can often go unnoticed as it doesn’t have any symptoms. The only way to find out is to have regular checks. A self-service BP machine is now available for patients to use in our waiting room. No need to book - just pop in!
Blood Pressure Monitoring (24 hour)
Your blood pressure is not fixed and can rise and fall depending on what you are doing and what is happening around you. When having their blood pressure taken some patients suffer from 'White Coat syndrome', where their blood pressure is higher in a medical setting than at home therefore giving an inaccurate reading.
Our 24 hour blood pressure monitoring service can provide a more accurate reading of patients’ blood pressure for suspected hypertension. Patients are given a small digital monitor that is worn on the arm for 24 hours which checks a person's blood pressure every hour (two hourly during the night) in order to give an accurate reading.
This service is available to both Chadsfield patients and patients from other surgeries.
